the year of the bunny sets in 2011 and in conclusion, another long weekend for me to slack @ home coz its Chinese New Year!! super looong wkend began on wednesday where we had a celebration on CNY. the usual stuffs like last year: results for best decorated classroom, wushu act, IQ quiz, dances, lion dance and not forgetting lo-hei to sum up the celebration! (: an added segment inserted this year was a mini competion for students & staffs. we, staffs, too had our lo-hei session; step by step led by our MT CC. hahaha~ enjoy ur super long break guys!! hopefully the sun comes out soon..

i have decided to stretch my volunteerism to BB East CC – Progress Class
every sunday @ 0930hrs
now tutoring for low income kids; basically primary level.
am teaching them English. ((:
and to adib – all the best in Tekong~

last sat – went to a musical @ DBS auditorium
caught Kolej 56.
arrived @ the wrong location when we first got there.
reached dbs arts ctr when it was supposed to be dbs auditorium.
managed to get there on time. yea!!
and that night the roads were diverted due to National Day Preview.

i would say that the musical is good to watch.
but a little too long – 3hrs.
and the sound system. omg laa.. go and find a better one can guys? ((:

met raikal after the musical. first time seeing him in person.
nice guy. ((:

thursday night – i sit in for zhafrie
who couldnt attend the star mentor group’s urgent meeting held @ Royal’s cafe.
discussing on matters such as mentors profile,
mentees personal particulars, home visits & other admin matters.
i decided to take up a position in the committee for the upcoming event.

one of the biggest event YIA has ever conducted was the Sports Jamz
held on the 4th july @ broadrick sec.
first time in my life, i’ve get to see a lot of kids having fun in conjunction to the youth olympics.

yesterday was power pack!!
woke up early in the morning to be at sungei buloh.
another YIM programme for pri sch kids.
kids from pioneer, teck ghee, woodlands, marsiling, macpherson attended
about 40 of them

weather was good.
company was great except their are too chatty.
well since most of the facilitators couldnt couldnt keep them shut,
classroom management did apply outside of class. hah!

dun worry helmi. i did tat all the time in my class.
i noe its difficult at first but hey.. it works!! ((:

came back about 5 and gt a call from wan.
he said his fren gt a tix for Gentara2009 which his fren couldnt make it.
and there i go off again to watch the comedy theater musical.

it was titled “Bapa Borek, Anak Cerdik“

never i had enjoyed so much in musical before.
the performance was simply awesome!!

another friend and i tagged along some of the
sec 2’s badminton players to Fuhua Sec for a qualifying round
to go against Nanyang Girls High, Commonwealth Sec & host – Fuhua Sec.
from what i observed – their attitude is like OMG laa~
mcm nk tampar je satu2 tuu.. urghhh!!

just take one scenario la..
if nanyang girls high can stroke without a net or a court,
i dun see y my sch team cant do just the same?
and when  i was approached by the players saying that they need a court to stroke,
i pointed out an empty court WITH net for them to use..

by the time they reached to da court, Nanyang girls high starting to stroke there.. URGH!!!
how to win like tad..
and betol jugak.. their line up was wif Nanyang Girls High.
one of the match they scored a wonderful 6 – 21
i dunno is OUTCLASS is the right word to use here. hahhhaha~
nxt wk they’ll be @ Boonlay Sec for another qualifying round.

yesterday, BBSS play host to Sagano High School
the japanese students – 250 strong reached abt 930am
good thing we cn accomodate the school and them in da hall.
tho’ their japanese students, i supposed mixing is the IN thing now.
i spotted a few mat salleh, hispanics, niggers – all are conversing in jepon la seyy..
hahaha short skirts, knee length socks

there was a dinosaur exhibition and bom wanted to see it real bad laa..

anyways.. i tink the place was upgraded. hahha.. or i tink it was renovated. loL~
from physics to chemistry to energy.. wierd experiments..
reminds me of primary sch.. hahaha

if onli these creatures would be alive.. wonder how it wud be like.. hahhaa.. too bad my fav dinosaur nt there.. u noe.. the one wif the club on its tail.. hahaha~

on the left is the exo skeletion of a t-rex and on the right is me holding a florescent lamp in the experiment involving a tesla coil.. the lamp lited up when the experiment started. whoaaa~ magic!!

guess which is mine.. wahahahaha~
we caught Dino Alive @ the omnimax.. a good show.. my second time going there..
it showed how dino bones are discovered especially at Gobi Desert and the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico.

decided to continue our tour  in the rest of the science..
hahaha visited the water exhibition and a few more before calling it a day..
those who nvr visted.. i wud say.. do visit the science center..
its worth ur 12 bucks.. hehehe~

perhaps slumber party tis friday eh at finance minister’s place..

we decided to catch Narnia: Prince Caspian @ 6.50pm

fuyohh.. its good laa.. no doubt abt it.
but for those who didnt catch the first installment, its hard to catch up during the second one.

anyways, b4 da movie, we decided to hit on swensens for an early dinner..
knowing the show is abt 145min.. so.. yeaa..

there’s a new bike park there.. where anyone who’s daring enuf to try the obstacles.

dan almost did the superman stunt . haha..
manage to cover the western part of the island and the weather seems bad..

yep.. we tried the thai coconut while waiting for the rain to stop..

at the same time.. we wait for chris and gf to arrive..

time to conquer the eastern part of the island when both of them arrive. hahhaa yeaa!!
too bad we didnt go to the swampy areas of chek java.
the terrain there is a challenging and fun..
challenging to ride up.. and zooming the downhill part.. fuyohh..

overall its fun laa.. shud try again someday..
but tis friday, we decided to go for nite cycling..

Gua [goo-wah] noun – What some mats and minahs use to call themselves.
Similar in using “lu” when referring to others. A legacy that dates
back to the times of Mat Rocks back in the early 80s.

A common trick that can be played on Mats is to ask them to translate
the English phrase “Monkey Cave” into Malay. The mat will then say
“Gua Monyet” (I’m a monkey).

Mat [mat] noun – To the rest of the world, the word simply means a
Malay guy. But within the Malay community itself there is a growing
disparity in consensus to its actual meaning. Popularly, it’s used to
denote a guy who converses primarily in Malay, as opposed to the more
“English speaking” types.
Favourites of the mats include tapered jeans, trucker caps and weepy Malay
songs with sickeningly suicidal lyrics.

Matrep [mat-rape] noun – An extreme version of the mat. In addition to
the usual mat accessories, a matrep will also come adorned with tattoos
and matching body-piercings in weird corners of his body.

Minah [mee-nah] noun – An expression used to denote a Malay female.
Derived from the popular Malay name, Aminah, which used to be all the
rage some time ago. It was sort of the “in-thing” to name your
daughter Aminah back in the 60s and 70s. In fact, legend has it that if
you go to Geylang Serai market and shout “Hai Minah!” at least a
quarter of the makcik population there is going to turn around and smile
at you.

Picit [pee-chet] adjective – When a mat tells you to “picit” him, it
does not mean that he is trying to be cheeky (or gay, if he is talking
to a fellow mat). It simply means that the mat wants you to call him on
his mobile. What were you thinking?

Relaksuah [ree-lek-soo-wah] adjective – Official slogan and life motto
of the mats and minahs.

Sial [see- yal ] noun / adjective – A full stop in every mat’s
sentence. Eg: “Tadi aku nampak accident sial Rabak sial Aku tak bedek
sial Kesian sial” Translation: Just now I saw an accident (full stop)
It was bad (full stop) I’m not kidding (full stop) Poor guy (full stop)

In its purest form, “sial” means “jinx” but mats have refined
the art of using the word to include it at
the end of their every sentence. Also comes in the more polite
form “siak” and “siul” for those who
do not want to sound too crude.

Skank [s-kank] adjective – A favourite weird-looking dance performed by
mats and minahs. Usually done at any of the various gigs that mats and
minahs love to congregate at. At times, you do detect evidence of
artistry in the dance but most of the time they just look like they’ve
been possessed by the ghost of a restless retard.

Sowie [soh-wee] adjective – An expression of apology used by minahs.
Commonly used in SMS and instant messaging. Actually they can just use
the word “sorry” like every normal human being but minahs think that
it will make them sound extra cute to deliberately talk that way.
Example : “I will be late. Sowie!”

Step [se-tep] adjective – To beguile, dissimulate or impersonate
something or someone that they are not. Also commonly used to describe a
fellow mat or minah who acts in an arrogant manner. E.g.“Kau jangan nak
step tak tahu eh?” Translation: Don’t you dare feign innocence in this
matter. Can also be used as a gerund e.g. “stepping”.

Step Jambu [se-tep jam-boo] adjective – What minahs do when they are
sitting alone in a train and a group of mats walk in. It is a general
exercise where the minah “controls” her facial muscles and posture in
a way that would make her look her best. This would usually involve
looking incessantly at her handphone for no particular reason.

Stoppit [setop-eet] adjective – A general expression of intolerance and
dismay. When a minah uses this phrase, be very careful for it signals
that she is about to lose her cool or get very violent.

Kids Science Camp

a long tiring day for me on both days. hahaa.. well, i had kids camp in school.. 2 school participate on this event.. the first one was Pei Chun Public Sch and todae was Stamford Pri Sch. wad do u expect? kids? noisy? yea.. more or less. hahaha.. i was the group leader (GL) for a grp called Isaac Newton. err.. who doesn noe wad Newton contribute.. kindly approach me.. thank u.. =P
